Geology

Short characteristics of the site: The Prague City agglomeration. Natural outcrops exposing uniform sequence of Proterozoic greywackes and clayey shales of the Kralupy-Zbraslav Group. The shales are slightly contactly metamorphosed and regionally anchimetamorphosed. Relief depression is filled by Quaternary loess and aeolian sand.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - crystalline complex and pre-Variscian Palaeozoic - Bohemicum (Central Bohemian region) - Barrandien
